Travel Expo Series / High-Speed Rail Offers Limited-Edition Lucky Bags with Free Ticket Vouchers

The 2012 Taipei International Travel Expo kicks off today, with exhibitors rolling out attractive deals and special performances to draw crowds. During the expo, Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) will launch exclusive limited-edition lucky bags, each containing 3 to 5 THSR commemorative items with a total value ranging from NT$1,070 to NT$1,350. Each bag is priced at NT$800, offering discounts of up to 41% off, and comes with one free or half-price Standard Class reserved seat ticket voucher. Only 300 lucky bags are available each day, with the first day...Lucky Bag ExchangeNumber cards will be distributed starting at 12:00 noon. Additionally, an oversized railway model exceeding 6 pyeong (approximately 20 square meters), centered around the Hsinchu Station, will be on display at the venue, intricately recreating the operation of THSR trains and real station scenes — a must-see for rail enthusiasts.

To purchase the THSR travel expo exclusive lucky bags, visitors must first collect a number card at the THSR booth.They can then exchange the card for a lucky bag during the designated time slot. On the 26th, number cards will be distributed starting at 12:00 noon, with exchanges taking place from 13:00 to 15:00 that afternoon; from the 27th to the 29th, number cards will be given out starting at 10:00 AM, with exchanges available from 11:00 AM to 13:00 PM on those days.

At the same time, THSR has created a massive railway model over 8 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, covering an area of more than 6 pyeong, with Hsinchu Station as its centerpiece. The model delicately presents the railway station and train operations, complemented by rich central Taiwan scenery and day-night scene transitions, immersing visitors in a miniature railway fantasy journey. Visitors who view the model will also receive a “THSR 700T Train-Shaped Cheer Stick.”

During the travel expo, THSR has also invited well-known performance troupes, including the Hakka band of Huang Lianyao, the Electric Three Princes, and the Golden Eagle Pavilion Puppet Troupe, to present a series of distinctive performances from northern, central, and southern Taiwan, showcasing the diversity of Taiwanese culture. The event also features a quiz with prizes — answer correctly to receive a “foldable handheld fan,” with a chance to win a free THSR ride voucher.
