North Coast Hot Springs & Food Festival: Get a Travel Pass with Your Soak

The annual autumn-winter highlight of the North Coast, the “Jinshan-Wanli-Bali Hot Springs & Food Festival,” has begun. From now until November 30, the North Coast and Guanyin Mountain National Scenic Area Administration is offering the “Soak Well in the North Coast, Travel Well Too” promotion. During the campaign period, if you take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Crown North Coast Line or any public bus passing through the North Coast and make purchases at participating hot springs and food merchants—whether for accommodation, hot spring bathing, dining, or shopping—with a total spend of NT$999 or more, you can redeem one set of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Crown North Coast Line (worth NT$199) upon presenting your receipt and transportation ticket. Each set includes one Taiwan Tourist Shuttle ticket, one one-way Taiwan Railways ticket from Banqiao to Keelung, and one rice dumpling meal voucher from Liu’s Zongzi. Limited to 1,000 sets.

The North Coast is the only hot spring area in the country that features submarine hot springs, sodium bicarbonate springs, sulfur springs, and iron springs. To establish a brand image for North Coast hot spring tourism, this year the North Coast Scenic Area Administration selected a hot spring tourism logo featuring the iconic “Queen’s Head” soaking in a hot spring. In addition, to promote low-carbon tourism, the North Coast Scenic Area Administration has introduced this year the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Crown North Coast Line bus route from Tamsui to Keelung. For just NT$100, you can get on and off unlimited times within the day and visit 12 scenic spots all with one ticket. During the campaign period (October 23 – November 30), an additional temporary stop, “Jiatouli Hot Spring Area Stop,” has been added to serve travelers. The Crown North Coast Line bus runs once every hour on weekdays and once every half hour on weekends.
