Rail travel across Europe at up to 60% off

Traveling by train and enjoying the winter atmosphere in Europe has long been a dream trip for many travelers. Starting now, various European rail passes—including Eurostar, TGV France-Italy high-speed trains, Thalys Northwest trains, and more—are launching promotional campaigns. Depending on the ticket type, those who purchase before the end of November or by the end of the year can enjoy discounts of 40%–80%, with the longest validity period extending up to a full year in 2024. In addition, the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) will join the alliance of European railway companies starting January next year. The original Eurail Select Pass will include Turkey as one of the travel countries, turning the former 23-country European rail pass into a 24-country version.

This time, the rail pass promotion includes the French Rail Pass, which allows travelers to choose any 5–9 days within a month, with an 20% discount available if purchased before the end of November. Passengers just need to validate the pass within 6 months after purchase. If you plan to...goto Germany for business or travel, the German Tourism Board, in collaboration with the German Rail Pass and 13 German cities, offers international travelers an 20% discount on the German Rail Pass, which allows 5 days of travel within a month, along with special deals in 13 cities. Eurostar, which operates high-speed trains between London–Paris and London–Brussels, offers one-way economy class tickets for just €40, a 60% discount, valid from now until June 1, 2013.

The TGV France–Italy high-speed trains, running between Paris–Milan and Paris–Turin, also offer a 60% discount—economy class one-way for €45 and first class for €55. Orders placed before the end of November this year are valid for the entire year of 2024. The Thalys Northwest trains, operating high-speed routes through Paris–Belgium–the Netherlands–Germany, are also available at a 60% discount, with prices starting from around €25. Passengers planning to travel before March 22, 2024, need to book their tickets by the end of December.

In addition, the French national railway company (SNCF) will withdraw from the European alliance rail company—the Eurail Select Pass—starting January 1, 2024. However, travelers can still select France in the Eurail Global Pass (covering 24 countries) or the Eurail Regional Pass that includes France. The Eurail Global Pass covering 24 countries will increase in price next January, so travelers planning to visit Europe before the end of March 2024 can take advantage of the 20% pre-purchase discount available before the end of the year. As for the Eurail Select Pass, which comes in options for 3–5 countries, since France will no longer be an option starting January 1, 2024, travelers planning to visit European countries before March 31, 2024, should seize the opportunity to book with a full 20% discount before the end of December this year.
