Hong Kong’s WinterFest Promo: 3-Day Travel Packages for Under HK$10,000

To celebrate the kickoff of Hong Kong’s WinterFest, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has joined forces with major travel agencies to launch super-affordable Christmas travel packages. Starting from just HK$9,900 (taxes included) for a 3-day, 2-night getaway, these deals also come with multiple freebies. The entire city is decked out in dazzling Christmas decorations, creating a strong festive atmosphere. Not only do Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park offer special Christmas events, but the six-story-tall Tiffany Christmas tree at Queen’s Plaza in Central and its 24 merry-go-rounds are also major draws.

This year’s Hong Kong WinterFest runs from November 23 to January 1, 2013, kicking off the holiday season with stunning Christmas lights and a romantic ambiance. Starting in December, the city’s shopping malls begin their big sales, and restaurants offer special Christmas promotions. Currently, travelers departing on weekdays can experience Hong Kong’s festive Christmas for under HK$10,000 (taxes included). Even weekend departures only require an extra HK$1,000. Sanfo Travel offers packages starting from HK$9,900 (taxes included) for a twin room at Black Tea Hotel, which includes ten freebies such as Airport Express tickets, MTR Day Passes, Peak Tram tickets, and Big Bus theme tour packages. Cola Travel offers an unbeatable deal starting from HK$9,999 (taxes included) where one person goes free when traveling in a group of four, plus MTR Day Passes and a Big Bus night tour. Skyroam Travel offers packages starting from HK$8,988 (pre-tax, no weekend surcharge) for accommodation at Apple Hostel in Causeway Bay, along with a choice of two valuable gift sets.

Travelers looking to indulge in some luxury at the end of the year can check out deals from Pabst Travel, which offers specially packaged triple rooms at the five-star Langham Hotel next to Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui. Starting from HK$13,888 per person (taxes included), the package includes Airport Express tickets, MTR Day Passes, a Big Bus single route tour, and Star Ferry tickets. Duoduo Travel offers weekend getaways starting from HK$16,888 (pre-tax) for three days at the luxury Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with options to upgrade to a deluxe harbor view room or enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast. The package also includes Airport Express tickets, MTR Day Passes, and a Big Bus night tour.

 

This year’s biggest highlight of WinterFest is the 18-meter-tall (about six stories) Tiffany & Co.-sponsored giant Christmas tree and 24 fairytale-style merry-go-rounds at Queen’s Plaza in Central. The plaza also features activities like the “Christmas House,” “Love Bridge,” “Creative Pavilion,” and “Candy House.” Additionally, on New Year’s Eve, the “New Year. New World. Hong Kong Countdown 2013” celebration along both sides of Victoria Harbour will climax the WinterFest with an eight-minute dazzling fireworks display.
