Applications for Creative Residency at the Japanese-Style Dormitory of the Gold Museum Now Open

The work-exchange experience event organized by the New Taipei City Gold Museum has been well received, and the latest edition of the “2013 Spring Seeking Lohas Creative Talents” program is now accepting applications. This round of creative talent selection focuses primarily on music and performance-based creatives. Applicants must apply as a group, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 members per group. Selected creatives will reside in the museum’s two connected Japanese-style dormitories from January 9 to March 22, 2013, and will propose participatory works for the public.

The New Taipei City Gold Museum stated that since August 2012, the museum has opened its newly renovated two connected Japanese-style dormitories for the first time under the concept of a “work-exchange experience,” inviting distinctive lohas creative talents to stay. During the three sessions in 2012, a total of 20 individuals/groups of creative talents resided at the museum. The museum arranged for the creatives to engage in dialogues with local artists, participate deeply in local festivals, and take part in various types of museum activities, allowing the creatives to truly connect with Jiufenkeng and further transform their experiences into creative inspiration. All creative works were also displayed during scheduled “Open Studio Days” for public viewing.

 

Applications for this residency program are now open and will be accepted until 5:00 PM on December 21. The core team members must include music and performance creatives, while other members may include those specializing in visual design, video documentation, fashion design, etc. Applicants can download and complete the application form and residency plan from the official website of the New Taipei City Gold Museum, and must also submit a resume and portfolio. Applications can be sent via mail or email to the organizer. The selection results will be announced on January 4, 2013, on the Gold Museum Residency Program website.
