The Tainan Travel Fair kicks off with over 6,000 visitors on the first day of its 4-day run

Jointly organized by the Tainan City Government and the Tainan Travel Association, the "Greater Tainan International Travel Fair" — the first and largest of its kind in Tainan’s history — will be grandly launched from today (the 7th) to December 10 at the Nanzih World Trade Center. This edition features exhibitors from 12 countries and 28 cities, totaling 84 participating organizations.

The organizing body, the Tainan City Government, has set up a "Tainan Tourism Image Pavilion" at the fair, collaborating with five national-level agencies: the Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration, Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Taijiang National Park, the National Museum of Taiwan History, and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. These showcase Tainan’s diverse tourism offerings through six major themes: "Cultural Tainan," "Literary Tainan," "Historical Tainan," "Industrial Tainan," "Religious Tainan," and "Touristic Tainan." The pavilion also features a representation of Taiwan made from the Seven-Colored Salt Mountains of Sihcao and uses an orchid to mark Tainan’s location — prominently placed at the entrance, attracting many visitors to take photos. Meanwhile, the Tainan Travel Association has specially designated an area during the exhibition period to offer special deals, including a 499-TWD one-day "Enjoy Tainan" tour and a 3,388-TWD "New Year’s Trilogy – 2-Day Tour." Additional activities such as a one-TWD auction and a million-TWD lucky draw will also be rolled out throughout the fair.

 

The Miaoli County Government has also invested millions to showcase Hakka culture. Beigang Chaotian Temple has even built a mini temple at the fair, bringing along statues of Mazu and the two generals Qianliyan and Shunfeng’er to pray for the well-being of Tainan residents. The Nankunshen Daitian Temple, a second-grade historic site, is also making a strong showing by presenting the Taiwan King Belief Culture, which holds significant importance in the religious life of the people of the Salt Belt region.
