Year-End Party & Shopping Bonanza at North Gate Camera Street – Win Big Prizes with Minimum Spending

The Lunar New Year is the most important festival for Chinese people. With just one month to go until Spring Festival, the “Come to Taipei for a Great New Year 2013” series of events will feature eight commercial districts — Dihua Street, Ningxia Night Market, Houbi Station Area, Huayin Street, Taipei Underground Mall, Rongbin Commercial District, Yuanling Street, North Gate Camera Street, and Nanchang Furniture Street — launching Lunar New Year goods streets or special holiday sales. Following Nanchang Furniture Street’s launch of discounts as low as 42% off and a free “Lucky Fortune Lamp” with purchases over NT$10,000, North Gate Camera Street has specially organized the “Camera Street 2013 Year-End Party” from now until February 3 to cater to gift-giving needs during the festive season.

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-pin stated that the “Come to Taipei for a Great New Year 2013” series will feature nine commercial districts offering special holiday sales. Whether it’s essential Lunar New Year groceries or new clothes and shoes, everything can be found in the city’s commercial areas. The city government will announce detailed schedules and activities for each district on January 23. Led by North Gate Camera Street, this event is the first to kick off. As Taiwan’s only commercial district dedicated to photography, North Gate Camera Street boasts the highest concentration of camera equipment shops, offering a comprehensive range of camera types and models. To meet the demand for gift-giving during the festive season, 36 shops in the area have jointly launched the “North Gate Camera Street 2013 Year-End Party.” The public is welcome to visit North Gate Camera Street.

Yang Chun, Chairman of the Taipei North Gate Camera Business Association, said that during the event period, visitors to the camera street’s pinball machine can earn lollipops based on their scores, with high scorers receiving a free raffle ticket for purchases over a certain amount. Shoppers who spend NT$5,000 or more on-site can also get a raffle ticket. Prizes include an iPad mini and various brand-name point-and-shoot cameras. Additionally, the event features a “Fan Popularity Bonus Draw.” From now until February 3, visitors who like the Camera Street fan page, take photos, check in, and upload them can receive a raffle ticket. For every additional 1,000 fans, an extra point-and-shoot camera will be added as a prize. On February 2 and 3, participating shops will present a “Camera Brand Boulevard,” where major brands like Canon, Nikon, and Sony will offer exclusive deals.
