Fans of hot pot are likely familiar with “22:02 Hot Pot. Lifestyle,” a highly popular hot pot restaurant in Taipei. Surprisingly, the owner has opened another new restaurant, “ZADO就一套” (ZADO — Just One Set), next door in what used to be the office. As the name suggests, this restaurant only serves one set meal — nothing else can be ordered. However, the set menu is updated every week. It operates on a membership reservation system and is only open from Monday to Friday. Originally, it was intended to accommodate the overflow of customers during holidays at the hot pot restaurant, making it a hidden dining spot.

Already running a popular hot pot restaurant, one might think they’d have their hands full. So why open another new eatery? It turns out that Owner Zhang often found himself wondering what to eat for meals. Eating at the same favorite spot all the time would eventually get boring. He thought, is there a restaurant that changes its menu frequently? So he transformed the space — normally an office on weekdays and an expansion area for 22:02 Hot Pot on holidays — into a brand-new restaurant called “ZADO就一套.” The restaurant only serves one set meal, takes reservations, and offers member discounts.

The price range at ZADO就一套 is around NT$500–800, with around 5–6 dishes per set. However, the owner is very generous with ingredients. As long as the kitchen’s proposed menu is well-received during tasting, it will become next week’s new offering. Ingredients such as shrimp, scallops, burger patties, and PRIME beef steaks have all been used. ZADO就一套 has been in operation for three months now, and Owner Zhang says customer feedback has been positive. Most guests are repeat customers, and Zhang adds that the restaurant is designed primarily for regulars.

Although there’s only one set meal, if there’s anything you can’t or don’t eat, you can inform the restaurant in advance, and they’ll help substitute dishes. Owner Zhang also hopes to listen more to customer feedback — whether it’s about what you’d like to eat — which can all serve as a basis for future menu adjustments. Additionally, ZADO就一套 can be reserved for private events at NT$12,000, where you can request your desired menu.

ZADO就一套 Rules
1. Reservations are accepted up to 7:00 PM the day before.
2. Same-day or walk-in reservations are not accepted.
3. The number of diners cannot be changed on the day of the reservation to avoid ingredient waste or shortages.
4. Only the set meal is provided; requests to substitute ingredients are not accepted.
5. Reservations canceled without prior notice will result in disqualification from becoming a Zado member.
6. Annual membership fee is NT$500, valid for one year. Membership can be purchased after dining on the day, in which case the day’s meal will be charged at the member price. If you dine but do not purchase membership, the day’s meal will be charged at the non-member price.
