Group Discounts: Up to 35% Off High-Speed Rail Tickets

Taiwan High Speed Rail is once again offering a “Group Discount for Designated Trains with 30 or More Passengers.” From January 20 to April 30, excluding the Spring Festival and Qingming travel periods, any group of 30 or more passengers traveling in assigned seating in standard class on designated trains will receive a 35% discount off the full fare for adults. If the group includes senior, child, or concessionary ticket holders, the original 50% discount for those categories still applies.

Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation stated that in 2013, the “Group Discount for Designated Trains with 30 or More Passengers” will offer a total of 300 train services per week, an increase of 124 services compared to 2012. Holiday services and services before 9:00 AM from Monday to Thursday have also been added. Starting now, passengers can download the “Group Discount for Designated Trains with 30 or More Passengers Booking Form” from the THSR corporate website or obtain it from station staff. Applications must be submitted by fax no later than two business days before the travel date, during office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday. THSR staff will follow up with applicants directly. This discount applies only to standard class with assigned seating and does not include group discounts for the Taipei–Banqiao section.
