Limited spots available for camping at the Museum of Ceramic Art's mysterious star-gazing skylight

Want to spend the night at the Yingge Ceramics Museum and gaze at the stars through its mysterious star-gazing skylight? The Yingge Ceramics Museum has partnered with the New Taipei City Branch of the National Youth Corps to hold the "2013 Little Pottery Taro – Overnight at the Museum of Ceramic Art & Flute Master Music Elf" winter camp. The event is divided into two sessions: January 24–25 and January 31–February 1, with 40 participants per session. Students from the 2nd to 6th grades of elementary school are eligible to apply. The 2-day, 1-night program costs a total of NT$2,200, and participants will also receive a free ocarina.

This year’s "Little Pottery Taro – Overnight at the Museum of Ceramic Art & Flute Master Music Elf" winter camp includes activities such as ocarina playing led by Flute Master, guiding children to experience the wonderful world of ocarina music. Museum guides will lead kids to learn about the history of ceramics by filling out activity sheets. Participants can also try their hand at DIY pottery and create their own ceramic artworks, then visit the Ceramic Art Park to watch master potters demonstrate rare skills such as foot-powered wheel throwing, slip casting, wheel throwing, and kiln firing. The highlight of the event is spending the evening camping in tents with new friends and counting the stars through the observation window in the children’s activity room.
