Winter vacation children's fantasy film festival to screen at the Sanxingdui Museum on weekends

During the winter vacation, cultural and artistic events are being held across the country. The Sanxingdui Museum in New Taipei City will also launch the "2013 Sanxingdui Winter Vacation Children's Fantasy Film Festival." For two consecutive weekends from January 26 & 27, and February 2 & 3, various children’s animated films with different themes — including The Lost King’s Ship and Bedtime Stories — will be screened in the museum’s lecture hall. Admission is free for all, with a limit of 149 seats per screening. Attendees who fill out an event questionnaire after the screening can also receive limited-edition souvenirs.

This film festival features four well-received European animated films. On January 26 and February 2 at 10:00 AM, The Lost King’s Ship will be shown, offering a colorful gathering of adorable Nordic maritime vessels with human-like faces. At 2:00 PM, there will be the French animated film Bedtime Stories by master animator Michel Ocelot, which combines traditional shadow puppetry techniques with 3D computer animation. On January 27 and February 3 at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM respectively, the popular Spanish animations The Revived Forest and Star Battle will be screened. The Revived Forest tells the story of a group of cute little animals who stand up to protect their forest. Star Battle, which won Best Animated Film at the Barcelona Film Festival and the Goya Awards (Spain’s top film prize), follows a boy who is afraid of the dark as he searches for a fallen star.
