Watch 4 Major Gezaixi Troupes Perform at Hongmao Port During Chinese New Year

Where to go during the holiday season? Head to Hongmao Port Cultural Park for great performances and special offers! From the second to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Hongmao Port Cultural Park invites four local gezaixi troupes, including Ming Hua Yuan, to “put on a lively show,” and has also launched special promotions during the Lunar New Year period such as “Take the MRT to Nangangshan Station and Get a Ticket Discount Coupon” and “Get a 10% Discount Coupon for the Round-Trip Boat from Bo Er to Hongmao Port When Visiting an Exhibition at Pier-2 Art Center,” allowing families to enjoy a fun Spring Festival getaway across Greater Kaohsiung.

During the holiday period, Hongmao Port Cultural Park is only closed on New Year’s Eve. Starting from the second day of the Lunar New Year (February 11), a series of fantastic performances are scheduled, including “Happy Foes, Charming Romance” by the “Ming Hua Yuan Ri Troupe,” “Lantern Festival Revelry” by the “Ming Hua Yuan Tian Troupe,” “The Pawnshop of Desire” by the “Shang He Gezaixi Troupe,” and “Liu Rui Lian Protects the Nation” by the “Chun Mei Opera Troupe.” These four top local troupes will take turns presenting exquisite gezaixi performances, with every show a highlight that is sure to satisfy audiences’ visual and auditory senses.

 

In addition to enjoying the performances, special holiday promotions for Hongmao Port Cultural Park tickets and boat ride tickets are also available. Starting February 1, passengers taking the MRT from Nangangshan Station will receive a Hongmao Port Cultural Park ticket discount coupon, which can be used to get a NT$50 discount off the regular NT$99 full-price ticket during the Lunar New Year holiday from February 10 to 17. Additionally, starting February 1, visitors who purchase exhibition tickets at Pier-2 Art Center will receive a 10% discount coupon for the round-trip boat between Bo Er and Hongmao Port. These two promotional offers are valid not only during the Lunar New Year holiday but also throughout non-holiday park operating days until March 29.
