London Underground's 150th Anniversary Invites Passengers to Be Train Drivers

Do you know which London Underground line is the busiest every morning? And where is the deepest station, dug 58 meters underground? On January 9, 2013, the London Underground, which holds a special place in the hearts of Londoners, officially celebrated 150 years since its opening. The London Underground also took this opportunity to hold a series of events, including 150 little-known major milestones in its history. Not only that, but the London Underground also collaborated with the London Transport Museum to launch related activities, including a one-day experience event in April where passengers can take the driver’s seat and experience being a train driver. Throughout 2013, each station will also display paintings by renowned British artists, spreading the festive spirit to all passengers.

As early as 1863, the world's first underground train slowly set off from Paddington and headed to Farringdon Station, 3.5 miles away, marking the beginning of the London Underground's journey. Whether on weekdays or holidays, the always-crowded London Underground is going all out this year, with “Happy Birthday” songs to be sung throughout the year.
