In April, as the east wind blows, tonghua blossoms bloom in full splendor, draping the hills like a bride adorned in a magnificent white veil. Petals scatter across the ground, creating a uniquely romantic and poetic scene. The most anticipated and thematically distinctive group wedding event in the nation — the 8th Miaoli Hakka Tonghua Wedding — will open registration on March 16. This year, the Hakka Tonghua Wedding introduces six great happiness gifts, and in line with the 102nd year of the Republic of China, is calling for 102 couples. Newlyweds from across the country are welcome to gather at Miaoli Tonghua Happy Life Park on April 21, where under the blooming tonghua forests, they can pledge their “Love for a Lifetime” vows.

The wedding gifts given to couples each year are always amazing. This year, the Miaoli County Government has carefully prepared six happiness gifts: “A Handmade Two-Jin Silk Quilt — Love That Grows Stronger,” “A Set of Tonghua Love Lifelong Ceramic Couple Cups” engraved with the couples’ names, “One Miaoli One Night Two Meals Lake and Mountain View Accommodation Voucher,” “One Set of Eastern Beauty Tea Gift Box,” “Ten Boxes of Happy and Blissful Tongxin Wedding Cakes,” and “One Piece of Miaoli’s Self-Created Premium Brand Luggage.” These are all Miaoli specialties rich in Hakka culture and creativity, conveying boundless blessings.
The Miaoli Hakka Tonghua Wedding actively promotes Hakka wedding customs and traditions, recreating the warm yet grand rituals of traditional Hakka weddings. Paired with the romance of dancing tonghua blossoms, the event has won the hearts of couples nationwide. Registration fills up quickly every year, so this year, 102 couples are expected to be accepted. Registration will be accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. starting March 16, at the Miaoli County Tourism Service Center.
