The Gaomei Grassland Starry Sky Concert Features Jia Jia & Fire EX Tonight

The only pop music program of the 2013 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival Grassland Concert — "Singing to the South — Original Music Concert" — will kick off with great energy this evening (the 12th) at 19:00 on the lakeside grass slope of the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. Popular singers Jia Jia and the rock band Fire EX will be making special appearances, along with seven up-and-coming musical talents who will perform one after another. Free tickets are available for entry, and ticket holders can also enter a draw to win an iPad mini.

The concert will feature performances by Jia Jia, the ambassador of "Singing to the South," and closing act Fire EX, the most representative rock band from southern Taiwan. Seven musical talents — Yan Yongneng, Yan Weiling, Prophet Mary, Fearless Madness, Chen Lingjiu, Zhang Xian, and Chen Yixiu — will also take the stage one after another to belt out their songs. The event will also feature screenings of five award-winning MVs that tell touching stories. With songs spanning rock, ballad, punk, and folk styles, this concert promises to be a fantastic audiovisual experience under the starlit sky and on the grassy field. An iPad mini will also be given away as a grand prize at the end of the concert.

 

Tickets for the "Singing to the South" Original Music Concert can be collected at the following locations: Kaohsiung Cultural Center Zhishan Hall, Dadong Art and Cultural Center, Kaohsiung Museum of History, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Pier-2 Art Center, Kaohsiung Music Center, Kaohsiung Social Education Center, Gangshan Cultural Center, Sanmin Branch, Baozhu Branch, Zuoxin Branch, Kaohsiung Literature Museum, Gushan Branch, Nanzi坑 Branch, Dadong Art Library, and service windows at Kaohsiung MRT stations (Red Line — Xiaogang Station, Shijia Station, Houyi Station, Aozihdi Station, World Games Station, Metropolitan Park Station, Qiaotou Railway Station, Nangangshan Station; Orange Line — City Council Station, Sinyi Elementary School Station, Cultural Center Station, Weiwuying Station, Dadong Station, Daliao Station). It is recommended that the public call ahead to check ticket availability at their preferred collection point. If tickets are no longer available at a specific location, please try another nearby site.

 

Due to high expected attendance, the public is encouraged to use public transportation. MRT riders holding a ticket stub for the Grassland Concert can get their stub stamped at the Aozihdi Station service desk for free shuttle bus rides. The shuttle pick-up point is at Exit 4 of Aozihdi Station (at the intersection of Bo’ai Road and Shennong Road), taking passengers directly to the entrance of the Gaomei Museum of Fine Arts fountain (at the intersection of Meishu East 2nd Road and Meishu East 5th Road). Shuttle service runs from 17:30–19:00 and 21:30–23:00, with departures every 15–20 minutes.
