New Taipei City Recommends Romantic Photo Spots for White Day

Today (the 14th) is White Day, a day that symbolizes promises and commitments. Have you and your loved one already planned where to go? The New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau recommends romantic photo-friendly spots along the northern coastline, including Fisherman’s Wharf in Tamsui, the Little White House, and the Queen’s Head in Wanli—perfect for couples to create happy memories on White Day.

Located on the right bank of the Tamsui River estuary, Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as Bali and the 13-Shih Museum on the left bank, have always been popular dating spots for couples. Especially walking on the iconic white-sail-shaped Lover’s Bridge at Fisherman’s Wharf, set against the orange-red brilliance of the sunset, offers a unique riverside view unique to New Taipei City. At night, the bridge is surrounded by colorful lights, and the LOVE light sculpture in front of the Lover’s Bridge is one of the favorite photo spots for couples.

Hobe Fort is not only a historic site for reminiscing about the past, but also a hidden gem for locals in Tamsui. Its well-preserved fortress walls paired with lush greenery offer a uniquely tranquil vibe, while taking photos in the stone-paved corridors inside the fort symbolizes eternal love witnessed by history. The former Tamsui Customs Officer’s Residence, known as the “Little White House,” features eleven neat and elegant semicircular corridors, and its beautiful white architecture leaves a deep impression. In front of the Little White House, one can gaze at the scenery of the Tamsui River estuary and Guanyin Mountain, making it another popular spot for wedding photography.

 

Sanzhi is famed for its Hengshan Terraced Fields. Standing among the terraces, the interlocking geometric patterns formed by the layers make it highly photogenic. Recently, spring cherry blossoms have begun to bloom, and pink cherry blossoms can be seen swaying in the breeze in front of the Sanzhi Visitor Center. The Mediterranean-style architecture represented by the Shimen Wedding Plaza, the artistic sculptures at the Juming Museum in Jinshan, together with the natural seascape of the northern coastline, make visitors feel as if they are abroad. Yehliu, located in Wanli District of New Taipei City, features gracefully shaped landmarks such as the Queen’s Head, mushroom rocks, and candlestick rocks, along with its blue skies and seas, which also attract visitors to take countless photos.
