TRA Cruise Train Spring Tours Set Sail on April 13

 

The 2-day Steam Train – Sanxiantai East Coast itinerary is now open for booking, departing from the north on April 13. Travelers will ride the iconic steam locomotive LDK59 from Hualien, immersing themselves in TRA’s history and culture amid the sound of its whistle. The journey includes visits to the natural sea-eroded rock formations at Sanxiantai and Jialulan Recreation Area, a bike ride in Luye and a tour of the “Rice Country School” in Guanshan to admire its unique scenery, a slow train ride through the Renhe Station to take in the Qingshui Cliffs, and concludes with a visit to Dongshan Station—the only vine-roofed platform in Taiwan.

The Neiwan – Expo Museum enriching 2-day itinerary is scheduled to depart from the south on May 25. It includes visits to the Dajia Tianhou Temple and Wenchang Shrine with tastings of the region’s famous buttery sesame cakes, a stop at the Xinzhu Railway Station historic site—Xinzhu Story House, exploration of Neiwan and the Xinzhu Expo Museum, tours around Miaoli, and cultural and gourmet experiences in southern Taiwan. Booking opens on May 26.

The Shihgu Music – Hot Air Balloon Carnival itinerary begins booking on May 24, with the trip departing from central Taiwan on June 22. Highlights include a visit to the Shihgu Cultural Village to appreciate Taiwan’s sugar industry heritage blended with percussion art, participation in the Luye Plateau Hot Air Balloon Carnival floating above vast grasslands, tours of the Taitung Native Plant Garden and National Museum of Prehistory, enjoying the scenery of the East Rift Valley, and experiencing Taiwan’s prehistoric history and culture. The itinerary also features a stop at the distinctive southern loop station—Kaluguan. Booking opens on May 24.

 

The Mugumuyu – Steam Train – Whale Watching itinerary opens for booking on May 31. On June 29, travelers will head to the Northeast Coast’s natural ecosystem at Fulong Station, then explore the diverse and serene beauty of Hualien in Mugumuyu. The whale watching experience takes place aboard a safe and comfortable vessel guided by an experienced captain, offering a secure, smooth, and enjoyable encounter with marine wonders. Back in Hualien, guests will ride the iconic LDK59 steam train, immersing in TRA’s history and culture with the sound of its whistle, and visit Dongshan Station—the only vine-roofed platform in Taiwan.
