Michelin three-star journey featuring five major routes including the Tainan YanShui Moonlight Lantern Festival

The romantic lantern festival event in southern Taiwan, “2018 Moonlight Harbor Lantern Festival,” kicks off today and runs until March 4 around Moonlight Harbor in YanShui District, Tainan City.

The annual “YanShui Beehive Rockets” and “Moonlight Harbor Lantern Festival” events attract many visitors.
The 23-day lantern festival celebration offers a stunning visual feast. While enjoying the lantern displays at Moonlight Harbor, visitors can also join the “YanShui Moonlight Harbor Stroll” guided walking tour. Led by guides, participants will wander through the town of YanShui to experience its historic charm.
The Moonlight Harbor Lantern Festival lasts for 23 days.
To allow visitors to deeply experience the ambiance of YanShui, the tourism bureau has launched the “YanShui Moonlight Harbor Stroll” guided walking route, with one free session every Saturday at 3 PM and every Sunday at 9 AM. Additional sessions are available during the Lunar New Year holiday period (February 16–20).

The walking route starts from Qiaonan Old Street, lined with traditional shop-houses, then winds past the European-style Baroque architecture along Zhongzheng Road, the 370-year-old Hobei Temple, and YanShui Catholic Church, which houses one of the few Eastern versions of “The Last Supper” in the world.
