As the cold winter sheds its heavy layers and the warm spring breeze gently caresses the earth, the consecutive holidays of Children's Day and Qingming Festival—when flowers bloom in the warmth—are also perfect for travel. Have you got your trip plans ready? Take advantage of the pleasant weather to explore New Taipei City. The New Taipei City Tourism Bureau recommends seven spring holiday routes where you can visit various attractions and trace the footprints of spring’s beauty.

Shuinshe Cave: Following the Wildflower Trail of Spring
Come to Shuinshe Cave to experience the tranquility and lush greenery of springtime. Start your visit at the “Exhibition Art Gallery” (Mountain Town Art Museum), where the warm smiles of the artists will naturally help you feel the ease and serenity of mountain life. The gallery hosts rotating exhibitions, diverse performances, special DIY experiences, and you might even get to enjoy a featured meal made with seasonal ingredients or share tea with the hosts of the Mountain Town. From April 6th to May 19th, the Mountain Town Art Museum will present an iron sculpture artwork exhibition.
After leaving the Mountain Town Art Museum, you can walk along the Golden Waterfall toward the Romantic Highway, following the trail of blooming wildflowers until you discover the Hidden Three-Tiered Bridge tucked away along the path. Pause here to appreciate the beauty of time standing still.

Jinshan: A Hidden Paradise to Experience Village Ecology
The Shibian Settlement in Jinshan District, a small rural village hidden within Yangmingshan National Park, awakens with the arrival of spring. During the consecutive holidays, come here to breathe in the scent of early spring terraced paddies, embrace the lush green fields, and listen to the murmuring sound of water flowing through stone irrigation channels. Don’t miss the beautiful and poetic scene of “Water in the Middle,” where the mirror-like surface reflects the green mountains, blue sky, and white clouds—feeling the bright beauty of spring. Visitors can also join ecological school guided tours in Shibian to learn about the area’s rich ecology and culture, stonework landscapes, and farming methods. While in Jinshan District, you can also visit the Zhu Ming Art Museum to witness the spark between artistic creation and nature, or go to Fagushan for a spiritual cleansing religious journey. And don’t miss the famous duck meat and other delicacies on Jinshan Old Street—they’re sure to refresh you after your travels.

Wulai: Soak in Hot Springs and Admire Butterflies, Enjoying Subtle Warmth and Happiness
April marks the best season for butterfly watching. Wulai, with its towering and continuous mountain ranges, boasts natural landscapes such as waterfalls and hot springs, and is rich in flora and fauna. During the holiday, why not visit Wulai to watch butterflies dance, soak in hot springs to relieve daily fatigue, or ride the Wulai Train to enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere. Around the Qingming Festival is when Pinglin’s spring tea is in peak production. Use the holiday to pick tea with your family, escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and enjoy a baptism in nature. Don’t miss the renowned Pinglin Baozhong Tea, and try tea-infused noodles, tea-flavored egg rolls, and local specialty tea dishes to experience the tranquility and simplicity of tea tasting. Shuangxi: Wild Charm and a Chance Encounter with Romantic Spring
The simplicity and tranquility of Shuangxi, with its unhurried pace and lack of excessive adornment, actually highlights its beauty. It allows visitors to truly follow the rhythm of spring, experiencing the chirping of insects, birdsong, murmuring streams, and distant layered mountains. This season, in addition to cycling, visitors to Shuangxi can also take an ecological trip to a farm. April to May is when fireflies appear locally—watch the night sky sparkle with tiny lights, learn about and observe fireflies, and enjoy a peaceful yet visually delightful “firefly” evening party.
