Registration for the "Run Out of Tainan’s Beauty" Marathon Photography Contest Begins

Get your running shoes ready, grab your camera, and head out to the marathon photography contest. Marathon photography not only allows you to unleash your energy, passion, and creativity, but also showcases your unique emotions and worldview of Tainan. The 2013 Far Eastern 12th City 24-Hour Marathon Digital Photography Contest will be held in Tainan on July 27–28, inviting photography enthusiasts from all over Taiwan to experience Tainan in a new way. Come and discover a different kind of marathon photography, create endless possibilities within limited time, and uncover the distinctive charm of Tainan.

The contest encourages the public to pick up their cameras and document life around them, capturing the full spectrum of Tainan’s morning and evening scenes through a non-stop 24-hour marathon. It aims to explore the diversity of local life and characteristics, allowing participants to experience Tainan’s people, places, moments, and elements, and to take a closer look at the surroundings they live in, thereby promoting the beauty of Tainan.

 

The Far Eastern 24-Hour Marathon Photography Contest is a creative-style photography competition. The Tainan leg kicks off on the morning of July 27 and is divided into five segments. The organizers will distribute themes and topics at different competition stations in Tainan every 4–5 hours. Participants must submit their works at the stations and collect the next theme for creation. The contest concludes on the morning of July 28. There are seven award categories, with the top prize valued at approximately NT$100,000. The city government plans to add special awards to further encourage public participation.
