The 2013 Tainan Golden Shower Tree Flower Festival will kick off grandly at Hutoupi Reservoir in Xinhua from June 8 to June 23. This year’s Golden Shower Tree Flower Festival has specially invited Axel, the German founder of the “Tainan May Music Festival,” and his foreign friends to perform on-site at Hutoupi Scenic Area during the flower festival. In addition to the hiking activities starting at Hutoupi Scenic Area on June 8, the event period also features concerts, photography competitions, cricket fights, and other exciting programs. It is hoped that visitors coming to Tainan for flower viewing and travel will all take away an unforgettable romantic golden impression.

Hutoupi Reservoir also offers water recreation activities, where visitors can enjoy kayaking and windsurfing, soaking in the happiness and romance of summer. The Tourism Bureau has thoughtfully compiled a list of 11 flower-viewing spots in Tainan, aiming to spark a new trend in flower appreciation and shape the city’s unique character between May and June each year. This allows Greater Tainan to immerse itself in the romantic sway of golden showers, and during the phoenix flower blooming season when students graduate, it paves a brilliant golden future for the youth.
The “Tainan May Music Festival,” postponed for nearly a month due to heavy rain, will also be held from June 7 to June 9 at Hutoupi Scenic Area. Themed “LOVE OF MUSIC,” in addition to music, the site will also feature many positive life experience workshops, including yoga, children’s pizza-baking experiences, African dance, fire dancing, painting, and Xinhua area guided tours (except for the Xinhua area guided tour workshop, which requires prior registration with the organizer, all others can be signed up for on-site).
