New Taipei City, Tamsui District — Small Farmers’ Market FUN Summer
Summer is almost here—come enjoy it at the New Taipei farmers' markets. Among them, the Tamsui and Bitan farmers' markets, established under the guidance of the Agriculture Bureau, will host a variety of food and DIY activities from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the first and third Sundays of June, July, and August. Local farmers will also introduce their farm management practices and available experience activities.
The Tamsui Farmers' Market will host “My Happy Life Food Event” on June 15, and the Bitan Farmers' Market on June 16, both from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The event, organized by the Tamsui market farmer “Niupu Organic Farm,” will demonstrate how to cook everyday dishes using their golden pumpkins, grown under the sun of Tamsui.
The New Taipei City Government Agriculture Bureau has currently established five farmers' markets in Shenkeng, Yingge, Shuangxi, Tamsui, and Bitan in Xindian, helping small-scale farmers sell their own produce. Through local production and consumption, farmers can directly engage with consumers.

New Taipei City, Banqiao District — Love Pet Hope Day Pet Adoption Event
To promote proper pet care knowledge, advocate for "adoption over purchase," and encourage the values of "respecting life and caring for animals," the New Taipei City Government will hold the "Love Pet Hope Day Pet Adoption Event" on June 15 at 12:00 noon and June 16 at 10:00 AM at the Civic Plaza of the New Taipei City Hall. This will be the largest pet adoption event of the year. The event will feature celebrity Dorothy Chen as the ambassador of love, aiming to spread awareness about animal welfare and the joy of adopting stray animals through the influence of public figures, encouraging more potential pet owners to embrace the concept of "adoption over purchase."
The two-day event will focus on pet adoption, accompanied by lively stage performances, interactive pet activities, and the setting up of a pet blessing wall. It will also involve the New Taipei City Veterinary Medical Association, multiple compassionate businesses, and non-profit organizations joining forces to offer comprehensive pet medical services and behavioral consultations. Visitors can also enjoy fun experiences with their own pets and win great giveaways. Additionally, pet experts will be on-site to share training tips, giving attendees a chance to learn directly from professionals.
Furthermore, the New Taipei City Animal Protection and Quarantine Office will provide services such as pet adoption, free rabies vaccinations and microchip implantation for 100 cats and dogs, and registration on-site. Citizens who adopt a cat or dog will not only receive free rabies vaccination, microchipping, and pet registration but will also be eligible for neutering subsidies: NT$1,000 for male/female dogs/cats and NT$2,000 for female dogs/cats. Visitors can exchange two receipts from purchases made in New Taipei City during the current month at the service desk for souvenirs and raffle tickets, with prizes including a 42T LCD TV worth NT$35,900. New Taipei City, Pinglin District — Expert-guided Stream Trail Cooling Adventure
Feeling scorched by the blazing sun? Want to escape into a leafy green world or listen to the cool melody of a babbling brook? Or perhaps catch a glimpse of fish gracefully swimming beneath the water? Don’t miss the outdoor session of the “2013 New Taipei City Nature and Ecology Conservation Lecture Series” this June. On June 15 at 9:00 AM, the course kicks off at the Fish and Fern Trail along the Jinguailiao Stream in Pinglin District, New Taipei City. The lecture, titled “Nature Observation and Experience – Delights by the Stream,” will be led by Zhang Mingxiong, CEO of the Conservation Research Center at Taipei Zoo, who will share insights on the local fish ecology and surrounding environment. Participants can meet at the second entrance of the Fish and Fern Trail along the Jinguailiao Stream between 8:30–9:00 AM on June 15.
The Jinguailiao Stream in Pinglin District, New Taipei City, is a tributary of the Beishi Stream. Originating from Jiuxionggen, much of its watershed remains in its pristine natural state due to its remote location. The Fish and Fern Trail is rich in moisture and dense with ferns, fostering a vibrant ecological environment. Furthermore, Pinglin’s waterside pedestrian bridge spans the main channel of the Beishi Stream. Thanks to successful stream conservation efforts, the area boasts abundant fish and a rich variety of bird species, creating a thriving local food chain. Lush woods in the vicinity attract flocks of egrets, offering close-up views of little egrets, night herons, and cattle egrets.

New Taipei City, Gongliao District — Longdong Marina Ocean Carnival
On June 15 and 16, New Taipei City’s Gongliao District will host the “2013 Northeast Coast Longdong Marina Ocean Carnival.” Before 12:00 PM on June 15, the Longdong Four Seasons Bay area will offer free admission to all visitors. Throughout the two-day event, there will be generous lucky draw promotions, including a free gift for the first 500 visitors each day who present the event flyer. Those showing tickets to the Longdong Bay Ocean Park, the 2013 Fulong Sand Sculpture Festival, or the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Golden Fulong One-Day Pass will also receive a “Vicky the Viking commemorative set.”
Additionally, to allow the public to fully experience the stunning coastal scenery and unique natural landscape of the Northeast Coast, the “Northeast Coast Ocean Adventure Tour” is being offered. Originally priced at NT$1,800, the tour is available at a special price of just NT$1,200 for departures between June 15 and June 30, and includes a visit to the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival. There’s also an exclusive early-bird promotion for those who register in advance. On June 15, the first departure of the “Northeast Coast Ocean Adventure Tour,” the organizer will select five lucky participants from each of the three limited groups (120 people total) to have their tour fees fully refunded on-site.
