Giant eggs have appeared at Abu Dhabi Airport? The adorable white oval shapes might make you think of alien spacecraft. In fact, these are the new "GoSleep Sleep Pods" at Abu Dhabi Airport, touted as the world's first exclusive facility built with cutting-edge technology. The concept is similar to a capsule hotel, but with even more compact space, located right in the bustling airport terminal.

Designed for frequent business travelers or those with long layovers, airports have been rolling out various new facilities to help these frequent flyers get some quality sleep while saving time. These stylish Finnish-designed sleep pods can transform a seat into a flat bed — not only easy to operate, but also equipped with partially and fully enclosed sliding sunshades that block out external noise, light, and curious onlookers, allowing travelers to sleep undisturbed.
Many features are still under development, but in the future, these eggs will be gradually upgraded to include Wi-Fi connectivity, luggage storage, and device charging options. For just $12 USD per hour paid via credit card, travelers can enjoy a restful sleep inside one of these pods. Currently, 10 sleep pods have been installed in the Al Dhabi Lounge at Abu Dhabi’s Terminal 3 and Terminal 1, with plans to add 35 more before the end of the year.
