Approaching the North African Garden Inn, even before entering, you’ll spot its pinkish-orange building standing like a fortress by the roadside, remarkably eye-catching against the azure sky. Inside the inn, the sprawling corridors, tassel decorations on furniture, gorgeous mosaic tiles with Arabic flair, and wrought iron chandeliers that emit a mysterious glow immediately bring to mind words like elegant, luxurious, opulent, and mysterious. Passing through a sensor-activated archway, you enter 11 uniquely themed suites, each personally designed by Well. Each suite features an extra-large (king-size) 180×210 cm bed, a 42-inch LCD TV and DVD player, broadband internet, and SPA bathroom facilities — all designed to make guests feel as if they’re in a Moroccan palace.

 

Beyond the omnipresent North African ambiance, the energizing breakfast prepared for guests is cooked in a tagine, offering authentic Moroccan flavors. After a day of adventure, returning to the inn, you can also request the French-cuisine-trained chef to prepare a full French meal using the day’s freshly caught Penghu seafood. The VIP suite on the top floor includes a private terrace and an outdoor jacuzzi. Soaking in it, you can not only gaze at the vast beauty of Penghu’s inland sea but also, depending on the season, watch eagles and migratory birds soaring freely in front of Xingren Wetland.

The North African Garden Inn’s luxurious and splendid Moroccan style creates a strong visual impact — proof of which is that the MV for the song “Love Knows No Boundaries” by mainland singer Liu Ye and Qu Nici was filmed here.

Well’s passion and love for travel led him, formerly in the finance industry, to open a homestay with Mediterranean flair, sharing stories from his years of travel.

 

From conception to execution, the Greek Border Resort was entirely designed by Well himself. To better capture the essence of the authentic Mediterranean style, he made multiple trips to Greece for on-site research and brought back distinctive furniture and artworks to decorate every corner of the inn.

 

The Greek Border Resort currently offers 7 themed suites. Among them, the “Greek Honeymoon Suite” can even help couples prepare champagne and a rose petal bath, making it especially popular with newlyweds. The “Chrysanthemum Island Love Suite” was a filming location for the movie “Chrysanthemum Island Love,” favored by young couples. The “Azure Starlight Suite” is located on the highest floor of the building, featuring a large terrace in front. At night, guests can sit hand-in-hand here, admiring the landscapes, beaches, and starry skies of Chrysanthemum Island while sharing their love and affection. Owner Well creatively designed several unique souvenirs, including limited-edition postcards, seven differently shaped soaps, a hotel-shaped model, and pottery OX game pieces. Located in Chengqian Village, Baisha Township — a place even many locals in Penghu don’t know well — this village has fewer than thirty households. The Migratory Bird Intertidal Homestay is situated right here. Some describe this homestay with its wide views as “moving.” Its uniquely shaped architecture and space have their own character, and the warm, reassuring hospitality makes the Migratory Bird Intertidal Homestay’s owner, Xiao Manman, offer travelers a pure coastal environment and a serene, open space.

 

The name, which includes both “migratory bird” and “intertidal zone,” hints at the area’s highlights — rich ecological surroundings and a location that is “literally on the intertidal sandy beach.” Xiao Manman tells us that during high tide, over 100 square meters of the beach in front of the homestay are submerged. The island environment gives many Penghu homestays a healing atmosphere, and at the Migratory Bird Intertidal Homestay, being zero-distance from the ocean slows your mood with the sea breeze, gradually dissolving the stress and fatigue accumulated in daily life. The Migratory Bird Intertidal Homestay is truly very, very close to the sea. It’s said to be the only homestay in the country with a private beach.

 

In front of the Migratory Bird Intertidal Homestay lies the calm inland sea of Penghu, where guests can leisurely paddle a kayak and admire the opposite shores of Magong City, Siyu Island, and Dakang Island. To the left lies a large wetland area with mangroves, mudskippers, small shrimp, and crabs among the intertidal ecology. Behind the property, farmland grows Penghu’s famous loofah and papaya.

During the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, the Chen family migrated from Kinmen to Penghu and settled in Two], eventually forming a village where everyone shared the surname “Chen.” The Two] Hamlet Cooperative has restored these well-preserved old houses one by one, turning them into small local museums, including the Community Traditional Museum, Common Life Museum, Children’s Playthings Museum, Intertidal Zone Museum, Ballad Museum, Sea Cockroach Museum, Founding Ancestral House, Toshou Memorial Hall, and Folk Art Museum. The neighborhood’s old grocery store, known as a “candy store,” was also reopened through the efforts of the cooperative, selling toys, crafts, traditional snacks, and cooperative-developed products such as Two] Xiangxiang, Tu Ren Cake, and Pumpkin Cake.

 

A visit to the national third-grade historic site, Two] Chen Residence, is a must when in Two]. Completed in 1911, the Two] Chen Residence is a five-section single-story house featuring both Japanese and Western architectural styles, with antique furniture and items that still faintly echo the prosperity of the past. Nestled among these historic buildings, Two] Homestay is the only legally licensed homestay in the area, consisting of three sections: Muxia Pavilion, Sunrise Pavilion, and others. The Muxia Pavilion is rented out as a whole building, while the Sunrise Pavilion offers modified traditional-style suites that maintain a quiet and elegant atmosphere. In addition to the homestay buildings themselves, guests can enjoy beautiful views toward Penghu Bay, including the scenic sights of Magong and Baisha.
