Readers who love railway travel and top-tier cuisine alike should take note: Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Raymond Blanc will host an exquisite dinner aboard the British Pullman, a train under the Orient-Express brand, on November 16. Guests will enjoy his Michelin-level cuisine in the elegantly classic carriages reminiscent of the 1920s. Additionally, between 2013 and 2014, Orient-Express will invite several of the UK’s most renowned chefs to present a series of special dinners on their iconic trains.

This exclusive dinner is limited to 100 passengers, who will enjoy seven specially designed courses by Raymond Blanc, paired with premium wines carefully selected by sommeliers, all while seated in exquisitely elegant carriages as they take in the charming scenery of the English countryside. During this event, Raymond Blanc will also collaborate with his protégé and current executive chef of the British day train, Robbie Gleeson, to create an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
Raymond Blanc said: “The British Pullman has always been known for its classic British tradition, offering an unparalleled experience for travelers. I’m delighted to work with Robbie to present these dishes and meet the passengers on this very special journey. I’ll do my utmost to create memories that will last a lifetime.”

The train will depart at 7:00 PM on November 16 from London’s Victoria Station, where passengers will be warmly welcomed with champagne and canapés. Throughout the evening, Raymond will share his immense passion, deep interest, and expert knowledge about cooking.
The British Pullman features original 1920s Art Deco-style carriages and offers highly personalized service from staff in beautifully tailored uniforms, delivering a uniquely luxurious dining experience. The train evokes the golden age of travel, allowing passengers to relive the past and imagine travelers dressed in elegant attire, enjoying the journey at a leisurely pace.
Additionally, Raymond will host another dinner on the sister train, the Northern Belle, which is scheduled to depart from Manchester on November 2.
