To preserve Suncheon Bay—one of the five major coastal wetlands and an internationally significant wetland designated under the Ramsar Convention—Korea hosted the "2013 Suncheonman Bay World Garden Expo" in Suncheon City, South Jeolla Province, from April 20 to October 20, 2013, for about six months. Since its opening, the expo has attracted over 1.7 million visitors from around the world and invited Taiwanese celebrity endorser Show Lo to film an MV, perfectly showcasing the garden's floral splendor.

The Suncheonman Bay World Garden Expo site is divided into the main expo area, featuring world gardens and themed courtyards, and the International Wetlands Center, where visitors can explore and experience the wetland environment. Stroll along the Dongcheon Stream that runs through the expo grounds, cross the Dream Bridge made from repurposed shipping containers, and enjoy the natural beauty of Suncheon Bay across spring, summer, and autumn.
