Kaohsiung UBU Hard Court Music Festival Offers Free Yacht Ride to Seafront Concert Tonight

Enjoy a free yacht ride to "cruise the harbor and watch the bands" right here in Kaohsiung! The "Kaohsiung UBU Hard Court Music Exhibition," a collaboration between the Kaohsiung City Government's Information Bureau and the Taiwan Music Culture International Exchange Association, has specially extended the stage to the sea—setting up a floating performance space inside a yacht. The event offers 150 residents and music fans a free yacht ride to "cruise the harbor and watch the bands." Everyone is invited to head to Glory Pier today (31st) to enjoy this summer’s hottest rock event by the harbor！

"UBU" stands for You Be Yourself—be your own person—while "indie" (independent) spirit is all about originality and creativity. The "Kaohsiung UBU Hard Court Music Exhibition" happening today (31st) at Glory Pier will deliver a rock assault both on land and sea. Not only is entry completely free, but to showcase the charm of Kaohsiung as an ocean city, the organizers have specially planned three performances on a floating stage. Performers include Li Yasha, Chairman Band, and 88 Balaz, taking turns to rock the stage. Residents and music fans can enjoy a free yacht ride to cruise the harbor and catch the concert.

 

The "Kaohsiung UBU Hard Court Music Exhibition" combines live concerts, a floating yacht stage, and elements of Fishbone Band history. In addition to inviting national treasure-level creators such as Wen Xia, Chairman Band, Fire EX, this year’s Golden Melody Award Taiwanese Female Singer of the Year Li Yasha, Copycat Qin, 88 Balaz, and TRASH—who won the Ocean Award at the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival—there’s also the locally beloved TV drama actor Wang Tong leading the “North Seven” band, bringing classic independent band performances to Kaohsiung.

 

Additionally, the music exhibition features a "Fishbone Band History Exhibition" to help fans learn about the development of independent music. There’s also a "Hard Court Reading & Sales Stage" mini stage where indie bands from across Taiwan perform their original songs, engaging closely with fans—turning it into an alternative autograph session. This allows both independent musicians and fans to truly Be Yourself. The event runs from 10:00 AM, with concerts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM; the floating stage performances take place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Starting at 6:00 PM today, boarding tickets will be distributed at Glory Pier, with only 50 available per show—totaling 150 tickets across three shows.
