New Adventure in Wulai Upgraded！The Wulai Waterfall Visitor Center, located next to Wulai Waterfall in New Taipei City, has reopened after a complete makeover. In addition to retaining its travel consultation services, it now offers visitors a brand-new “Five Senses Experience” — waterfall-viewing dining, thoughtful service, activity recommendations, cultural showcases, and health concepts. It has also unveiled for the first time the most phytoncide- and negative-ion-rich cycling greenway in the Greater Taipei area: the “Wulai Waterfall – Fushan” route. Netizens can simply rent a bicycle at the Wulai Waterfall Visitor Center and head straight to this lesser-known, most private cycling greenway in Wulai.

In the future, when visitors come to the center, they can enjoy creative cuisine combining indigenous and Western flavors — such as truffle bamboo rice, rustic wild pepper German-style pork knuckle, and wild pepper iced tea — while taking in the view of Wulai Waterfall, offering both visual and gustatory sensory experiences. They can also appreciate thoughtful services like bicycle air pumps and basic repair tools. Visitors can try hands-on DIY activities, crafting their own Atayal mini wooden knife or wild boar tusk keychain. Cultural experiences include viewing artworks created by artists using wood, stone, and copper. Health experiences promoting cycling, hiking, and jogging are also available. The “Wulai Waterfall – Fushan” cycling greenway route passes through Xinxian Black Bridge, Neidong Forest Recreation Area, the 7.5K section comparable to the Northern Cross-Island Highway, Wuchengxi Waterfall, the Green Tunnel, and Daluolan River, ending at Fushan Tribe. Along the way, you’ll encounter Taiwan’s highest waterfall drop at Wulai Waterfall, the No. 1 ranked Neidong Three-Tiered Waterfall from the Forestry Bureau’s waterfall poll, and the online-famous Wuchengxi Waterfall. With splashing water from waterfalls, streams, and fountains, plus the fresh oxygen produced by plant photosynthesis, you can enjoy a high-negative-ion ride. The entire 19-kilometer route is surrounded by lush trees without interruption, allowing you to breathe in the phytoncides released by nature along the way.

 

Located in the mountainous hinterland of the Greater Taipei area, Wulai’s visitor center offers bicycle rentals for just NT$250 per day, making it easy to leisurely explore the forests of Wulai. Additionally, Fushan is the southernmost Atayal tribe in Wulai. Its remoteness and inaccessibility have helped preserve its stunning natural scenery.
