A Must-See for Mid-Autumn Festival!

With the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 19 approaching, activities will kick off across Taiwan from September 15. Whether it’s the “Thousand-People Mid-Autumn Celebration Trilogy,” moon-gazing poolside BBQ parties, lakeside music events, midnight barbecues, or the Yellow Rubber Duck floating in Kaohsiung, those still deciding where to go should start planning their itinerary and gather friends and family to celebrate the festival together!

From September 19–20, Taipei Ambassador Hotel’s Ming Yuan Western Restaurant’s chef team will prepare a variety of grilled dishes and gourmet delights. On the 4th-floor poolside, the “Pink Roar Band” will host the joyful “Moon-Gazing Poolside BBQ Party.” For just NT$1,500 + 10%, guests can enjoy 12 specially selected grilled dishes including beef short ribs, shrimp, squid, and chicken skewers, plus unlimited imported beer and juice.

On September 19, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Taipei’s Tianmu district “MARKET CAFÉ Taste 'N Kitchen” will hold a “Happy BBQ Mid-Autumn Party.” For NT$1,080 + 10%, guests can enjoy a feast under the moonlight in the breezy semi-circular open-air plaza. The plaza will offer slow-roasted premium imported chicken legs, Hokkaido grilled king crabs, salt-grilled saury, Canadian oysters, rosemary roasted spring chicken, and grilled seafood, as well as a garden salad bar, made-to-order Asian noodle bar, BBQ grill station, Indian curry station, French-style gelato, and a variety of handmade desserts.

On Sunday, September 15, just before the Mid-Autumn Festival, the “2013 Shamao Mountain Hot Spring Conservation Carnival,” hosted by the Taipei City Shamao Mountain Hot Spring Development Association, will take place. In addition to revisiting last year’s delicious “Burnt Tail Banquet” and the heartwarming “Thousand-People Foot Spa” for parents, there’s an added bonus: the original NT$12,000 Burnt Tail Banquet is now only NT$399 (limited to 180 people), and those who sign up successfully will also receive a hot spring voucher. Moreover, free activities include the “Thousand-People Mid-Autumn Celebration Trilogy” — “Thousand-People Rabbit Dance,” “Thousand-People Pomelo Foot Spa,” and “Mooncake Treasure Hunt.” In the pomelo foot spa, participants wash the feet of their parents, partners, or friends — the most important people in their lives — with hot spring water, rekindling warm family bonds through intimate gestures. The mooncake treasure hunt features hidden prizes on the back of mooncakes, with some containing cash rewards ranging from NT$100 to NT$1,000.
