Railway %s Cruise Yellow Rubber Duck One-Day Limited New Experience

The yellow rubber duck at Kaohsiung Glory Pier is extremely popular, attracting over one million visitors since its launch. The ways to view the duck have evolved from aerial views, cycling on land, and boat rides to a combined land-and-sea journey integrating railways and passenger ferries. Taiwan Railways will launch the “Sea-Land Cruise Combo: Let’s Go See the Duck Together” on October 11. Not only can you take the Ju-Guang painted train southbound to Kaohsiung, enjoy the must-have railway lunch box on the train, but upon arrival in Kaohsiung, you’ll also transfer to a shuttle bus to head to the pier and board a cruise ship for the most comfortable duck-viewing experience.

The cruise-style duck-viewing train launched by Taiwan Railways will depart from Douliu at 8:00 AM on October 11. Along the way, it will stop at Qiaotou Station, with an arranged visit to Qiaotou Sugar Refinery. Upon arriving at Kaohsiung Station, passengers will transfer to a shuttle bus to Banana Pier, then board a cruise ship operated by Taiwan International Ports Corporation to get up close to the yellow rubber duck from the sea. In addition, during any waiting time before boarding the ship or returning by train, you can freely visit the Pier-2 Art Center to check out the “100 Years Before Doraemon Was Born” special exhibition, or head to the Kaohsiung Railway Story House to experience the atmosphere of early railway passenger and freight operations.
