Japan is a popular travel destination among Taiwanese, and Japanese goods continue to be well-loved. Every time department stores hold Japanese product fairs or Japanese-style festivals, they attract huge crowds. This time, department store operators have even partnered with Japan’s currently most popular mascot “KUMAMON (クマモン)” as the main draw. From welcome gifts to gifts with purchases, KUMAMON designs are used everywhere, prompting many KUMAMON fans and Japan travel enthusiasts to plan trips to the exhibition and shopping event.

From October 11 to 12, cardholders who spend a certain amount receive a KUMAMON foldable shopping bag. From October 16 to 18, cardholders who visit and make purchases receive a set of three KUMAMON file folders.

The Autumn-Winter Japanese-style exhibition, as usual, offers numerous Japanese food stalls bringing a mini-trip to Japan to local visitors. In addition to selected delicacies such as ramen, seafood, and bento boxes, there is also a dessert showdown between Tokyo and Osaka; Yoshimoto Kogyo, famous for its comedy, presents authentic Kansai-style Osaka sweets produced by Yoshimoto Kogyo itself, competing with sweets from the Tokyo region in the Kanto area; traditional Japanese craft exhibitions and pottery items will also be sold on-site; this year’s June addition to the World Heritage list, Mount Fuji, also holds a “World Cultural Heritage ~ Mount Fuji Photo Exhibition” during this Japanese-style festival. Fans of Japanese travel and Japanese goods can enjoy Japanese cuisine and products here without boarding a plane.
