Taiwan’s eating habits are gradually becoming more Japanized and Westernized. In addition to being influenced by Japanese styles, restaurants, cafés, and home furnishing items have also seen a growing demand for Nordic minimalist designs, which have become a popular trend. The composite dining concepts launched by brands are not only a current trend but also incorporate simple and warm elements in their interior styling, allowing diners to enjoy food in a cozy yet adult-oriented design that enhances both sensory and taste satisfaction.

Under the distribution of Uni-President Afternoon Tea Scenery, Afternoon Tea celebrates its fifth anniversary. For its reopening, it introduces a new-generation store themed around the charm of southern France, spread across nearly 100 ping (approx. 330 m²) of space. Throughout the venue, creative combinations of diverse materials can be found, crafted from raw wood, iron, leather, and mosaic. Among them, gold-plating techniques are used to fuse raw wood and iron, while lighting elements are cleverly utilized — from the mode of illumination and color temperature to the coordination with furniture such as sofas, dining tables, and wooden chairs — injecting a sense of European style into a balanced design of modernity and contemporary flair. The store also widens its pathways and lowers shelf heights compared to previous displays, offering a broader and more comfortable spatial feel.

In recent years, Japan’s economic recovery has led to an increase in various types of brand composite stores, and the market is undergoing a reshuffle. Seizing this opportunity, Afternoon Tea Japan is rethinking the brand’s next steps. Over the past two years, it has gradually increased the proportion of European-style designed goods, adjusted store styles... and so on, while returning to the look of its original founding store in Japan. By using vintage European items, it recreates a more European-style interior. At the same time, it aims to use the theme concept of “home” to build a new-generation store, reawakening the original idea of introducing European-style goods, and once again offering a new lifestyle proposal to fans of Afternoon Tea in Japan and Taiwan.

According to statistics from Afternoon Tea, Taiwanese consumers in recent years have shown a growing demand for home furnishings, with an increasing number of people paying attention to high-quality tableware and home decor items. As a result, Afternoon Tea has introduced more collaborations and products with premium brands, bringing them to Taiwan for consumers to experience. The entire second-generation store clearly conveys a “homey” atmosphere.

A new clothing series makes its debut in Taiwan, prominently featuring Liberty’s traditional patterns inspired by well-known British motifs. The collection includes dresses, vests, outerwear, and more. Additionally, tailored to the characteristics of the Eastern District shopping area, a premium essence series made from natural herbs grown in southern France is also launched, including body lotion, hand wash, moisturizing spray... and more. The TEAROOM, with a concept of recreating classics, will successively introduce four autumn-themed new items starting today: pork and black sesame pasta with king oyster mushrooms, wide noodles with autumn chestnuts and wild mushrooms in almond cream, chocolate lemon tart, pumpkin and chestnut cream cake, and pear with Darjeeling tea — all making ample use of autumn ingredients and healthy cooking methods to deliver the full flavor of autumn harvests.
