The joyful Western ghost festival—Halloween—is just around the corner, and entertainment activities are springing up everywhere. Taipei Expo Park will hold the “Expo Fear Festival,” which includes seven major events such as a Halloween market, a quirky costume contest, a Halloween parade, and a scary night concert. The concert will feature artists like Lala Hsu, Jia Jia, Ginny Li, Wei Jiaxuan, and Wei-Li An, all getting into the spirit with fun and spooky performances. The Tianshuo Business District Development Association is holding its 5th “What the Ghost is Going On in Tianshou Halloween Carnival.” This year’s street parade features superheroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man accompanying kids and adults alike to fight monsters. It also offers 3,000 limited-edition “pumpkin buckets” and collaborates with local shops and department stores to present events like “So Spooky Good Deals Are Real,” “Black Magic Show,” and “Halloween Horror Cinema.” In addition, Yangmingshan Tianlai is offering a haunted house stay experience, while Taipei Main Station is creating a first-of-its-kind blended physical-digital “Halloween Scream Virtual Haunted House” in its retail space. By downloading the game app, visitors can explore the haunted house with their phones in search of ghostly items. The Taipei Zoo and the Republic of China Sports and Leisure Promotion Association will also host a Halloween party and a Halloween fun run, filling Taipei with festive Halloween cheer.

Expo Fear Festival

As Halloween draws near, Taipei Expo Park is kicking up its spooky spirit. On October 26, it will combine seven major events: the “Trick or Treat Halloween Market,” “Quirky Costume Contest,” “Halloween Parade,” “Special Ghost Makeup Experience & DIY Creative Pumpkin Painting,” “Street Performers’ Scare Carnival – Street Performance Area,” the thrilling “Fun Scare Challenge Game Zone,” and the grand finale “Scary Night Concert.” The concert, starting at 7:00 PM, will feature the top three winners in both the vocal and creative categories of this year’s Expo Star Voice competition, as well as the fan favorite. It will also welcome artists like Lala Hsu, Jia Jia, Ginny Li, Wei Jiaxuan, and Wei-Li An to join in the fun. Admission is free, and there will also be special spooky photo gifts at the venue.

Yangmingshan Tianlai Offers Haunted House Stay Experience

Yangmingshan Tianlai Resort Hotel is launching a limited-time, limited-quantity haunted house experience. With its uniquely eerie decor, it creates an atmosphere where ghosts seem to come alive, giving guests the thrill of staying in a haunted house. The “Dracula’s Room” haunted house package includes five servings each of a hearty breakfast, Mongolian barbecue dinner, and Halloween-themed blood-red drinks, plus trick-or-treat candy for joining the trick-or-treat parade. Guests can also test their courage in the “Altered Recreation Room” challenge. For just NT$4,000 per person, it’s food, fun, and fright all in one.

In addition, Yangmingshan Tianlai is also offering “Spooky Cuisine,” where classic Italian dishes are transformed into terrifying organ-shaped meals—you might just accidentally eat a finger. The Blue Magpie Lounge Bar is also serving up bloody cocktails that are sure to surprise. Pastry chefs have gotten creative, replacing horror with cute and playful designs, incorporating various Halloween motifs into their sweets. The “Dark Graveyard” series of desserts features a rich chocolate cake base, with solid ingredients in every bite that are surprisingly sweet. The “Scream Pastry Lounge” is also offering takeout pastries for the first time. From October 25 to 31, elf muffins (4 pcs) are priced at NT$100, and pumpkin cakes (4 pcs) at NT$250, so you can celebrate the holiday in style at home and soak in the Western festive spirit.

5th Tianshou What the Ghost is Going On Halloween Carnival—League of Heroes

This year marks the 5th edition of the Tianshou What the Ghost is Going On Halloween Carnival, taking place from October 25 to 27 at Tianshou Sports Park and other locations over three days. This year’s street parade is themed around popular “movie heroes,” featuring superheroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man who will accompany children and adults in monster-busting adventures. A Halloween-exclusive Tianshou market will also launch, along with a “Haunted Castle” on the 7th floor of New Taipei City Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tianshou Store A, and a “Trick or Treat” event in collaboration with 200 Tianshou business district partner stores.

Taipei Main Station’s Virtual Scream Haunted House

Catering to young people’s love for online and mobile gaming, Taipei Main Station has created a first-of-its-kind physical-digital blended “Halloween Scream Virtual Haunted House” within its retail space. Starting now until October 31, visitors can download the game app in front of the haunted house installation and use their phones to explore the haunted house, finding ghostly items through the app. Along the way, unexpected ghost sightings will occur. Those who find any three ghost items will receive a ghost face filter. By pointing the filter at their face, users can see their own spooky transformation and share it on Facebook to join in the fun with friends.
