The Nantou Hot Spring Festival kicks off this weekend with popular female college students leading tours to three major hot spring areas

The three hot spring areas—Guoxing Beigangxi, Dongpu, and Puli—each with their own unique characteristics and charm, are competing for attention for the first time this year. Three popular online personalities with large fan bases have been invited to represent the three hot spring areas and promote their respective fun itineraries. Among them, Li Ying, known as the "Little Kyrin of Shih Hsin University," represents Puli’s delicious food tour, taking people to enjoy local snacks in Puli. The elegant college girl Lolita, who rose to fame on the show "College Students Don’t Know," represents the Dongpu Hot Spring Area and will take visitors to admire the majestic Yushan Mountain and join the torch-lit street parade. The athletic Molly, a well-built student from the Sports Institute, represents the Guoxing Beigangxi area’s Hero Chief Tour, taking visitors to explore indigenous communities and experience the culture of the Seediq people. Netizens can vote online for the three hot girl-led tours and even have the chance to win free participation in the guided fun band tours led by these hot girls.

 

In addition, the Nantou Hot Spring Festival has specially collaborated with businesses in the three hot spring areas—Puli, Beigangxi, and Dongpu—to launch 100 limited-edition "999 Warm Happiness Bags." Each bag offers a chance to win accommodations, hot spring vouchers, specialty products, or exclusive souvenirs provided by individual hot spring operators, with a guaranteed value of over NT$1,000. Any unsold bags at the county government lobby today will be sold at the three hot spring area events, and some will also be auctioned on the "Happy Travel Nantou" Facebook fan page starting at one dollar.

The series of activities in the Nantou hot spring areas will kick off this Saturday (November 2) at the Tayal Resort in the Guoxing Beigangxi Hot Spring Area, opening with a prayer song and dance performance by the Seediq tribe. The lively evening party and local specialty sales offer not only great hot springs but also DIY workshops and cultural tours. On November 9, the most vibrant yukata and torch-lit street parade in the Dongpu Hot Spring Area will feature traditional Bunun ethnic songs and dances, along with complimentary tastings of millet wine and grilled wild boar. On November 16, Puli’s Lotus Pond will host the i-Slow Play – Puli Hot Spring Intellectual Journey, specially designed for cycling enthusiasts, featuring hot spring cuisine, creative markets, and more. The outdoor spa at Tianquan Hot Spring Hotel will also be open to the public for free hot spring experiences on the event day.

 

In addition to the special activities in the three hot spring areas, other prize-winning fun activities are also set to begin soon, including a temperature discount battle where the hotter the weather, the cheaper the hot springs, hot spring stamp collection for gifts, a one-dollar keyboard auction, and a photo-sharing activity with the “Great Hot Spring Deal” event board.
