The 2013 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town, brimming with joy, hope, childlike wonder, and enthusiasm, has dispatched its oversized transparent festive bear promotional vehicle starting today. Cruising through major commercial areas and popular gathering spots in the Greater Taipei region, this highly eye-catching Christmas design carries 400 Christmas memorial bears, snowmen, and Santa Claus, spreading festive cheer across the area.

New Taipei City's Happy Christmas Town is set to light up and officially open on November 22. This year marks the first launch of a bear promotional vehicle with a transparent window, featuring 400 specially made tartan-patterned Christmas memorial bears. Accompanied by snowmen and Santa Claus, they will kick off the festive atmosphere in the Greater Taipei region over the weekend. From now until November 22, the festive bear promotional car will run daily from 13:00 to 17:00 and 19:00 to 23:00 on weekdays, and from 13:30 to 17:30 and 18:30 to 22:30 on weekends. It will pass through major bustling commercial districts in New Taipei City and Taipei, including Xinyi Shopping District, National Taiwan University, Gongguan Shopping Area, Ximending, Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan Shopping District, East District, Banqiao MEGA CITY, and Fuzhong Shopping Area.

Last year, New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town launched several Christmas bear souvenirs. This year, the design has been innovated again with the introduction of rare tartan-patterned Christmas bears in pink-blue and peach-pink colors—available only as giveaways, not for sale. In addition to appearing on the transparent promotional vehicles, these 7T-sized Christmas memorial bears will also be part of the “Bear Forest” Christmas installation made up of 800 small bears, which will debut at Banqiao Station’s B1 Plaza for netizens starting November 22. In the future, the New Taipei City Government plans to hold lucky draw events to give away bears, with details to be announced on the official event website.
