Explore Taipei in Depth with 2 Themed Tours Along the Xinyi Line

To coincide with the opening of the Taipei MRT Xinyi Line, the Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism will host the “Explore Xinyi – Holiday Guided Tour Experience” every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29. Professional guides will introduce the features of key tourist attractions, public art, and architectural aesthetics around the Xinyi District. Through expert commentary, visitors can experience the charm of world-class tourist sites firsthand.

The Department of Information and Tourism stated that as the Xinyi District is home to Taiwan’s highest concentration of international luxury department stores and is close to internationally renowned attractions such as the Taipei World Trade Center, Taipei 101, the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and the 44 South Village, it has become one of the top destinations for travelers visiting Taiwan. To serve both domestic and international visitors wishing to learn about Taipei’s cultural and creative industries, architectural aesthetics, and local life, the department has set up a tourist service center at Exit 5 of the Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station on the Xinyi Line MRT to assist the many visitors and business travelers coming to the Xinyi District. It has also planned “Explore Xinyi” guided tour experiences to be held every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29, with one session at 10:00 AM and another at 2:00 PM each day. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and is conducted by professional guides proficient in both Chinese and English, who will lead participants on a field visit to major attractions in the area.

　

The guided tour experience begins at the “Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station Tourist Service Center.” The morning session, themed “A Journey Through Taipei’s Cultural and Architectural Aesthetics,” introduces design, architecture, and public art along the route. The tour will visit public artworks along Xinyi Road, Taipei 101, and the Taipei Explorer Building, then proceed to the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and on to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park to experience Taipei’s creative design energy.

 

The afternoon session, themed “An Experience of Taipei’s Local Culture and Lifestyle,” focuses on experiencing local culture in Taipei. Starting from the “Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station Tourist Service Center,” participants will head to the 44 South Village to explore Taipei’s military dependents' village culture. On double Saturdays and every Sunday, they can also visit the 44 South Village Simple Market, where small-scale farmers promote their produce and various handmade creators showcase their work—it’s very lively. Next, they’ll explore life around the Xinyi District, including Taipei’s popular YouBike system, to get a taste of local living. The tour concludes at the Taipei Explorer Building, where participants can discover the history and development of Taipei City.

 

Those interested in the “Explore Xinyi – Holiday Guided Tour Experience” can sign up in person at the “Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station Tourist Service Center.” Each session has 30 spots available and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will receive a small design item provided by either Songshan Cultural and Creative Park or the 44 South Village. Completing a questionnaire allows them to exchange for a small gift prepared by the Department of Information and Tourism.
