Taipei 101 New Year Fireworks Animation Unveiled with Golden Theme to Welcome the Year of the Horse

Counting down from 2013, “Love You for a Lifetime,” into 2014, “Love You for a Century,” there’s no doubt that witnessing the Taipei 101 fireworks from the highest and best vantage point inside the tower will be an unforgettable memory. To complement the 2014 New Year fireworks show, Taipei 101 Observatory is launching a limited edition “2013–2014 High-altitude Fireworks Viewing New Year’s Eve” couple’s package, with only 300 sets available. This allows couples to take the world’s fastest elevator up to the observatory and enjoy the romantic feeling of standing above the clouds with stars above. In addition, participants will receive a commemorative certificate, a customized fireworks photo, plus exquisite gifts, a Taipei 101-shaped water bottle, and a meal box. Each set is priced at NT$2,000, and there’s also a chance to win big prizes such as round-trip Taipei-Tokyo flight tickets and travel accommodation vouchers on-site.

 

Additionally, the New Year blessing message submission and voting campaign has entered its third year, with over 100,000 participants annually. Taipei 101 spokesperson Liu Jiahao stated that this year’s blessing message activity is divided into three phases. The first phase opens online submissions to the public, where the first 101 approved and successfully submitted entries will receive exquisite Taipei 101 postcards. The second phase opens for online voting from December 9 to December 19, where the top 20 messages with the highest votes will compete for the final championship. From December 20 to December 26 is the third phase, where messages with higher votes will appear higher up, seeing whose blessing can ultimately “speak from on high to bless 2014.” The top ten voted blessing messages will be displayed on the Taipei 101 building façade between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM on New Year’s Eve, December 31, and the top ten authors will also receive a 3D puzzle from Taipei 101. After the event, all participants in the voting campaign will also have a chance to receive an observatory ticket.
