Taipei has the highest coffee consumption per capita in Taiwan, and its density of cafes and coffee chains is also unmatched nationwide. The Taipei City Department of Economic Development will host the "2013 Taipei Coffee Masters Carnival" at Xinyi Plaza Park from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM on December 7, 2013. Visitors can take the newly opened Xinyi Line to Taipei 101/World Trade Station, walk out of Exit 5 for two minutes, and arrive at Xinyi Plaza Park at the intersection of Xinyi Road and Songzhi Road—the festival site—to enjoy premium specialty coffee and experience the modern urban vibe unique to Taipei: "Taipei, Music, and the Aroma of Coffee."

The carnival has gathered over 30 booths selling unique coffee products and has invited students from the first session of the “Specialty Barista” course at the Taipei City Vocational Development Institute—who excelled in the “2013 Coffee Professionals – Barista Competition” and were certified as “Specialty Baristas” by the Taipei Specialty Coffee Business Development Association—to perform live coffee brewing demonstrations. There will also be a robot coffee-brewing show, free coffee tastings, popular vote activities, prize quizzes, jazz performances, and more. Additionally, 30 limited-edition cups of “Golden Harvest Coffee,” made by master baristas and infused with 999 pure edible gold leaf, will be offered to lucky attendees for a taste. There will also be 100 limited early-bird gift bags available.
