Hong Kong's latest—and latest-ever—typhoon brews ominously overhead as a gang led by Cao Nan (Hu Jun) robs a busy district. Senior Inspector Lui Ming-chit (Andy Lau), determined to capture him, arrives at the scene just as he’s about to apprehend Cao Nan. But a runaway car crashes into the chaos, allowing the criminals to escape. Tao Chengbang (Tony Leung Ka-fai), a repeat offender and the reckless driver, claims he panicked and hit the gas by mistake. Lui is stunned to realize Tao is an old high school classmate he hasn’t seen in 30 years.
