As the Lunar New Year arrives, flower appreciation events are gradually kicking off around the region. The Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market in Houli District, Taichung City, is hosting its Tulip Season from now until mid-March. Within its 6-hectare park, various flowers for all seasons are also planted, including a Dutch windmill area, a sage-themed area, and a seasonal flower field area, creating a vibrant floral carnival for the New Year. Since tulips only bloom for about seven days, the organizers will periodically replace them with fresh blooms during the exhibition period.

Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market is the only one in central Taiwan to successfully cultivate tulips at low altitudes. It imports a variety of bulbous flowers from the Netherlands, such as saffron, irises, grape hyacinths, daffodils, Chinese lantern flowers, scented lilies, Easter lilies, and dwarf lilies. This year, over 150,000 bulbs of around 36 vibrant tulip varieties will be planted in the European-style garden, allowing visitors to celebrate the New Year in an exotic atmosphere.
In addition, while exploring the Tulip Season at Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market in Houli, and experiencing the Dutch charm created by flowers and windmills, visitors can also visit nearby attractions such as the Houli Horse Ranch, Houfeng Cycling Trail, Tai’an Railway Cultural Park, Yuemei Sugar Refinery, and Yuemei Lihpao Land. This offers a rich and diverse floral and cultural experience during the New Year holiday.

During the Lunar New Year, the barbecuing area at Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market will be open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on New Year’s Eve, while the potted plant and flower sea areas will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. From the first to the fifth day of the New Year, the barbecuing area will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the potted plant and flower sea areas will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
