“A spicy hotpot that you can easily enjoy on your own” — that’s the first line in the Facebook introduction of Zi La. Solo. Spicy. Their broth is made using a Sichuan base mixed into a spicy sauce. For the Sichuan base, they use many authentic herbs and spices, soak them in 58% sorghum liquor and hot water, then add Yongchuan fermented black beans and Pixian premium red oil doubanjiang. They make their own chili paste, which is stir-fried over controlled heat for nearly 4 hours to create a richly aromatic spicy hotpot base.
