Extra trains added on Alishan Forest Railway for 228 Long Weekend

 

The Alishan Forest Railway will operate extra passenger trains on designated dates to manage the passenger flow during the 228 Long Weekend. On February 28, one extra round-trip of the Alishan train will be added. On March 1 and 2, one extra round-trip of the air-conditioned local express Zhongxing train (non-reserved seating) will be operated each day.

On February 28, one extra round-trip of the Alishan train will be added, departing Chiayi Station at 9:30 am and arriving at Fenchihu Station at 11:50 am. The downward journey departs Fenchihu Station at 1:30 pm and arrives at Chiayi Station at 3:50 pm. On March 1 and 2, one extra round-trip of the non-reserved Zhongxing air-conditioned local express train will be added each day. The upward journey departs Chiayi Station at 8:30 am and arrives at Fenchihu Station at 10:50 am. The downward journey departs Fenchihu Station at 1:30 pm and arrives at Chiayi Station at 3:50 pm.

 

Additionally, for the extra Zhongxing trains on March 1 and 2, passenger numbers will be controlled for safety and comfort reasons. The limits are as follows: 120 passengers at Chiayi Station, 20 at Beimen Station, 20 at Zhushiqi Station, 20 at Jiaoliping Station, and a total of 60 passengers at unmanned stations, making a combined total of 240 passengers. Tickets for the Zhongxing train will be sold on the day of travel. At Chiayi Station, number cards will be distributed starting at 7:00 am, with ticket sales beginning at 7:30 am. Each number card allows the purchase of up to four tickets. At other stations, ticket sales begin at 8:00 am during operating hours and will be available until sold out.
