Must-visit Bangkok’s top three hybrid reading spaces rivaling Tsutaya Books for all literary souls

Bangkok, Thailand, has become an international design capital, with creative markets and fashion malls springing up like mushrooms, rivaling major metropolises like Taipei, Tokyo, and Seoul. Hybrid reading spaces similar to Tsutaya Books are also becoming increasingly common. In addition to “Open House,” designed by the Tsutaya Books team from Tokyo, other must-visit cultural venues in Bangkok include the Bangkok City Library, TK Park, and TCDC.

1. Bangkok City Library
Opened in 2017, the Bangkok City Library resembles a design-themed hotel, with interior design and decoration comparable to European libraries, making you feel as if you’ve stepped into a movie set. The four-story library blends Eastern and Western architectural elements, exuding elegance and grandeur. In addition to offering a vast collection of books, it also features a film viewing room and art exhibition space. There's also a café on the first floor—you could easily end up spending the whole day here.

2. TK Park

Thailand Knowledge PARK, a Thai knowledge hub, is located on the rooftop of CentralWorld Plaza, covering an area of about 1,300 pyeong (approximately 4,290 square meters). Though it has a library, it is not managed or operated in the traditional library style. In addition to the library, the park includes game activity zones, dining areas, a music zone, galleries, and a theater.
