The Wulai Multi-Story Parking Structure Has Been Shortlisted in the Top Five of the U.S. "A+ Architecture Awards" – Online Voting Underway to Compete for the Championship

Taiwan’s various sectors are making their mark on the international stage, and the Wulai Multi-Story Parking Structure has become a new source of pride for Taiwan. Located in Wulai District, New Taipei City, the structure has been shortlisted in the top five of the American architecture website Architizer's "A+ Architecture Awards." It will compete for the championship in the "Parking" category under Transportation, going head-to-head with entries from Austria, the United States, North Macedonia, Australia, and other countries.

The judging panel for the "A+ Architecture Awards" consists of over 200 professional architects, and the award categories have increased from 52 last year to more than 60 this year. The Wulai Multi-Story Parking Structure, rebuilt in 2011, was previously shortlisted for the 2013 World Architecture Festival Transport Facility Award. It has now once again received recognition from the "A+ Architecture Awards," competing for the championship against entries from Austria, the United States, North Macedonia, and Australia.

The Wulai Multi-Story Parking Structure features four above-ground levels with nearly 500 parking spaces. Its circular design, constructed with a Q-shaped aluminum grille, not only blocks western sun exposure and improves ventilation but also subtly incorporates the diamond-patterned symbolism found in Atayal tribal textiles, representing the mountainous landscape of the Wulai area.

From now until March 21st, the "A+ Architecture Awards" website is open for public voting. Users can vote by logging in with their Facebook accounts. As of press time, the Wulai Multi-Story Parking Structure is in second place with 26% of the vote, trailing behind North Macedonia’s 41% and just 6% behind third-place Australia.
