The “2014 Anti-Nuclear Power Plant No. 4 & Radiation Escape Run” postponed — bookings open for April 26 start at Ketagalan Boulevard

The “2014 Anti-Nuclear Power Plant No. 4 & Radiation Escape Run” event was originally scheduled to start at 07:00 on March 29 at Ketagalan Boulevard. However, the event organizers stated today on their official website, “Due to the ongoing Sunflower Student Movement, which continues to gain momentum, both the number of participants and the road closure area have gradually expanded. To avoid diluting the issue’s momentum, and taking into account the challenges of police deployment and traffic control, after consultations with relevant authorities regarding subsequent road usage applications and traffic management plans, the main co-organizers of the 【329 Radiation Escape Run】 have decided to postpone the event. It is now tentatively rescheduled for April 26, still at Ketagalan Boulevard.”

The event organizers stated that since April 26 marks the 28th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, holding an expanded anti-nuclear event on that day carries greater meaning and value. However, as the road usage rights are still being coordinated with the city government, further confirmation will be announced as soon as it is available.

 

Additionally, although the event has been postponed, all participant rights will be retained. On the day of the April 26 event, participants can join the full event and receive related souvenirs simply by presenting their race bibs. As for those who are unable to attend the April 26 run, they can email their name, phone number, registration number, and bank account details to the designated email address via the event’s official website to receive a full refund. Any souvenirs already distributed will not be reclaimed by the organizers.
