Taichung’s retro hipster drink shop "Chunfang Hao" is now available in Taipei too!

The popular Taichung drink shop "Chunfang Hao," famous for its hipster-style floral cups that dominate Instagram, was once only available in Taichung and Tainan. This forced friends in Taipei to make the trip down south if they wanted a taste. But those days are over — on February 5th, Chunfang Hao officially launched its first Taipei branch!

Named after the owner’s father, Chunfang Hao is renowned for its retro-style floral cups filled with aromatic teas, making it a well-known name in Taichung’s beverage scene. It has also attracted visitors from other regions, becoming one of the must-try drinks in Taichung. After much anticipation from fans, the first Taipei branch has finally arrived. The shop is located near Exit 3 of Shandao Temple MRT Station. The green “Chun” (Spring) sign outside complements the neighboring pharmacy’s “Yao” (Medicine) sign, creating a playful juxtaposition of the two characters.

Chunfang Hao offers six signature drinks. Among them, the Jade Lotus Aloe Honey, loved by many girls, the Winter Melon Tieguanyin with its rich tea aroma, the refreshing Sugarcane Green Tea, the Sesame Fresh Milk Tea, as well as the Sweet Potato Pearl Fresh Milk Tea and Purple Sweet Potato Fresh Milk Tea, all deliver unique flavors that are refreshing without being overly sweet — winning over the taste buds of many locals in Taichung.

The owner of Chunfang Hao once mentioned in an interview that, in order to create a distinct brand identity and stay true to the philosophy of traditional heritage, the shop specifically developed handcrafted drinks using sweet potatoes — a symbol of Taiwanese spirit. They infuse sweet potatoes into the tea base and offer two flavors: yellow and purple sweet potato — both of which have become customer favorites.

However, the real star that put Chunfang Hao on the map is the "Jade Lotus Aloe Honey." Combining lychee, aloe, and green tea, it delivers a layered, refreshing, and cooling flavor — a top-recommended drink online that’s especially beloved by women, earning it the nickname “the wingman drink.”
