The delicate and lovely Formosan lily is a favorite among visitors, but unfortunately, it is often picked indiscriminately, causing it to grow only in hidden mountain cliffs or along secluded trails on the main island of Taiwan. To protect this precious natural asset and the spirit of Taiwan, visitors to Guishan Island are encouraged to bend down, smell the subtle fragrance of the Formosan lily, and deeply imprint its elegant white beauty in their minds,but to keep their hands off and not pick the flowers.
