Multiple nights of late-night felt earthquakes, with a strong aftershock reaching magnitude 5.7 on the evening of the 7th

Minor aftershocks have never ceased, with over 180 recorded, and there have been 26 felt earthquakes with a magnitude of 4 or above since the main quake on the evening of the 6th.

For multiple consecutive nights, there have been felt earthquakes with magnitudes of 5 or above. Tremors reached intensity level 4 in Hualien and Nantou, level 3 in Yunlin, and level 2 in the Taipei metropolitan area. The Central Weather Bureau warns that aftershocks may continue over the next 2–3 weeks. In addition to the subduction of the Philippine Plate, the compression of the Eurasian Plate may also trigger the Meishan Fault, potentially causing another sizable earthquake. Continued vigilance and earthquake preparedness are advised.
