Salads, cocktails, and toast are all in dark colors—Tokyo hotel’s black-themed cuisine

It doesn’t seem very common to see black-colored food on the table. But a hotel chain has gone against the trend at its Tokyo location in Japan, launching an ultra-special “black afternoon tea” menu, where all the dishes are based on dark-colored ingredients. It’s definitely intriguing to wonder what they taste like!

According to Lonely Planet, Aman Tokyo in Japan has launched a black afternoon tea set. Guests can enjoy black crab, sesame breadsticks (grissini) paired with black cocktails and champagne on the 33rd floor of Otemachi 33. There are 18 original flavors of cocktails. The appetizers are also color-coordinated in black and served on a tea stand. In addition, there are dishes such as black tomato salad, black porridge, and black chocolate mousse.

After afternoon tea, guests can relax in the lobby, which offers a fantastic view through its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city’s night scenery.
