During the 2014 Dragon Boat Festival consecutive holidays, Taiwan High Speed Rail will operate 87 additional train services (44 southbound and 43 northbound) over a 5-day transportation period from May 30 (Friday) to June 3 (Tuesday), offering a total of 762 services. Additionally, 23 services will be canceled or rescheduled (for the detailed Dragon Boat Festival transportation timetable, see the attached file). Passengers may start prebooking round-trip tickets for the Dragon Boat Festival transportation period from midnight on May 3 (Saturday).

To encourage the public to reunite and travel during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, THSR offers early bird discounts on 544 services during the transportation period, accounting for over 70% of the total number of services. Passengers can enjoy early bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90% when booking tickets between 8 and 28 days before the travel date.

During the Dragon Boat Festival transportation period, all trains will maintain 3 to 4 cars of free seating. Passengers holding regular tickets, return tickets, or EasyCard co-branded cards (with auto-load enabled) can directly tap in and use the free seats.

THSR stated that passengers can purchase tickets for the Dragon Boat Festival transportation period through convenience stores partnered with THSR, the online ticketing system, the “T Express” mobile ticketing system, the voice reservation system, or at ticket windows and automatic ticket machines during station business hours. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance and make full use of the convenient services offered by over 9,800 convenience store ticketing points and the “T Express” system to collect tickets early. This allows direct entry into the station for boarding upon arrival, saving time queuing for tickets and avoiding crowds at stations.
